The Game is Released!

The day has finally come! LittleBigPlanet™ PlayStation®Vita has launched!

(Unfortunately you'll have to wait until Thursday for Japan, Friday for the UK, and next Tuesday for the US)

We’ve had an incredible journey here at Double Eleven since the company was formed in 2010, and it’s a real defining moment for us to be releasing our first game. Our entire team have worked exceptionally hard to ensure Sackboy’s latest adventure fits perfectly onto Sony’s new handheld - we really wanted to make Media Molecule proud of our translation of their legacy onto the Vita.

With our partners at Tarsier Studios, we believe we’ve done it! The game has so far received excellent reviews and we are delighted to currently possess the highest Metacritic score for the platform to date. It means a great deal to us to have this amazingly positive feedback and we can’t wait to hear what the community thinks of our game too.

Check out a few snippets from some of the reviews below:

CVG – 9.2/10

“It's the best LittleBigPlanet single-player campaign on any format”

Edge – 9/10

“this is the most inventive LittleBigPlanet campaign yet”

“If you’ve been writing the series’ Vita appearance off as a compromise or a contractual obligation, you’re in for something of a treat.”

Wired

“Basically [my kids and I] create a skateboard of some description and then attach a rocket. The kids have had hours of fun, often in hysterics, driving it into various other objects or making jumps.”

PSNation – A+

“Taking everything unique about the Vita and mixing it seamlessly with the familiar gameplay of the series, Tarsier and Double Eleven have crafted the definitive version of LittleBigPlanet.”

IGN – 9/10

“It's everything you loved from the past games boiled down into a package you can play anywhere at any time.”

“Uncertain of his sister’s fate, a boy enters Limbo.”

Limbo is an award-winning puzzle platform game based around a little boy and his mission to find his sister, battling through a forest on the “edge of hell” and encountering an array of monsters on his journey.

The game was originally released in 2010, developed by Danish indie studio Playdead, receiving rave reviews from the likes of Edge, a 9/10 from IGN and an impressive score of 88 on Metacritic.

Naturally we were keen to bring such a critically acclaimed title to the Vita; with such a unique storyline and scary but beautiful graphics, we felt honored to be the first team to work on it externally.

It was released today, June 5th 2013 on the PS Store in the EU and US and you can buy it here:

What We Do

Double Eleven is an indie-friendly developer and publisher of video games, exclusively for the PlayStation Network. We look for developers of successful games and then help them realise their creations on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

We have a tremendous amount of development experience, which differentiates us from other publishers. This translates to a team that not only understands your game, but one that can really make your IP stand out on the Sony consoles; looking and playing its best. We’ve been doing it for years, and have some fantastic titles under our belts to prove it!

The bottom line? We create relationships with developers and other partners that play to each of our strengths, where the outcome is beneficial to everyone.
